War Against Touting in Anambra State
Following renewed activities of illegal revenue collectors, touting in Anambra State. A joint task force led by the Commissioners of Transport, Hon Afam Mbanefo and trade and commerce, Hon Uchenna Okafor Wiper, with ATMA, Ocha brigade etc raided some flash points in Onitsha and Amansea. Arrested illegal revenue collectors at Upper Iweka ,Niger bridge head, Main Market and Amansea in line with vision of Governor Willie Obiano. These illegal revenue collectors have not only milked commercial drivers dry with its negative effects on Anambra economy, but have also started collecting money from passengers, especially those on Keke . All these activities have continued to cause traffic, reduce the number of traders coming in Anambra, especially Onitsha markets ,with its negative multiplier effect on Anambra social economy.
