Anambra Commissioner for transport solves lingering leadership Crises of Tippers Union. Inaugurates Leadership Of newly elected Anambra Tippers Association.   This follows a Successful conduct of election which brought various fragmented unions previously existing to a common Platform and Umbrella body known as Anambra Tippers Association. Anambra State Transport Commissioner, Mr Afam Mbanefo has unveiled the state Government’s plan to register every tricycle in the state. This means that all tricycles would henceforth carry security codes, which would be inscribed at the back of the tricycle by the ministry of Transport. Hon. Afam Mbanefo said this during his meeting with tricycle stakeholders present at Transport Ministry’s Conference Hall within the Jerome Udoji Secretariat Complex, Awka. The commissioner noted that the government had directed him to control reckless driving among riders, stop illegal ticketing and illegal task forces and halt driving against traffic as well as stop tricycles from plying on the expressways. He explained that the security codes would enable an easy tracing of any tricycle involved in any form of criminal activities through the Ministry’s Traffic Command and Control Center (TCCC). Hon. Hon Commisioner for transport, Hon Afam Mbanefo meets with Drivers Union, Park Managers ,etc for the second time in two weeks. Generates all the legal tickets payable by each . Agrees with the union that only Park or loading bay is allowed for collection of legal tickets,and not on moving vehicles . Setting the tone of the meeting, Hon Afam Mbanefo says ," our harmonized tickets will be subjected to Anambra internal revenue screening to determine the legal ones ,which will be published, and anyone not on it becomes illegal, we are determined to stop all illegal tickets on Anambra roads " The meeting held at Chief Udorji State Secretariate ,Awka has Union of Park managers, Drivers Union, Political appointees ,staff of Ministry of transport in attendance.
