Hon. Afam Mbanefo speaks to demostrating motorists in Anambra

Commissioner for Transport meets with Awka/Onitsha protesting drivers . Calmed them down . Invites them for a roundable meeting . According to the protesting drivers " We are here to complain about the problems and challenges in Awka Onitsha route ,we don't have elected leadership ,about a year ago we had interim leadership which suppose to last for three months then followed by election ,but it is getting a year plus now ,no elected leadership in place. Again, we are battling with multiple tickets ,we pay average of 3000 a day on multiple tolls, ." Responding, Commissioner for Transpot, Hon Afam Mbanefo says " i thank you for your peaceful aproach in driving home your demand ,your problem is reducible to two ,leadership and illegal tickets .We will look into them , bring all the details of all the tickets you talk about, nominate three persons among you who understand all issues you raised ,we will have meeting with you next week to enable us solve your problems, the Governor encourages the entrepreneurial and businesses interests of Ndi Anambra, this is why His Excellency was among the first Governors to open the economy of the State, after the initial Covid 19 lockdown . The government of Governor Willie Obiano will never encourage anything that will jeopardize the businesses of Ndi Anambra, because those businesses helps you to take care of your children, please remain peaceful to enable us solve your problems.," We urge the protesting drivers to remain peaceful
