Drastic Positive Change hits Anambra Transport Sector

Team Ministry of Transport led by Hon Afam Mbanefo Meets With Driver's Union .

Maintains driver without driving license should not drive .

Says the ministry can only deal with registered Association with evidence of payment of Tax .

Directs all Drivers Union to register FREE of charge with Control and Command Center of Ministry of Transport .

Called on all drivers Union in Anambra State to Submit legally approved tickets for harmonization.

Hon Afam Mbanefo says " We have ascertained legally approved tickets ,with a view to solve challenges in ticketing in Anambra Transport Sector ,we want to clarify these things ,we want to get inland revenue involved to also assist in ascertaining legally approved tickets ,we will start with various tickets every drivers unions is charged, we separate authentic ones from inauthentic ones ,based on that ,we will harmonize with IGR to unify the tickets ,communicate the approved tickets back to your members ,we want to stop illegal and multiple tickets in Anambra transport Sector, "

Continuing, Hon Afam Mbanefo talked about the de-congestion of major traffic flash points coming soon ,called on the drivers to support it by driving the right way . The meeting among other items, generated all the legally approved tickets in Anambra transport Sector, submitted same to Team Ministry of Transport for harmonization with IGR office.

Giving vote of thanks ,the UDWAAS PRO thanked the Commissioner for Transport for taking the bold step in solving ticketing challenge in Anambra transport Sector. He noted ticketing in Anambra transport Sector as one of the greatest challenge facing the sector, and promised the support of drivers unions in helping the Commissioner solve the challenge, in line with vision of Governor Willie Obiano.

In attendance are ,United main Truck Driver's Association, Keke riders Association, UDWAAS, Okada Union ,Association of Urban Bus Owners etc.
